Anonymous2: I appreciate that your going to give this source out immensely, thank you. This is amazing never thought I'd ever see this in my life time lol. Were u going to post most of this stuff, like updates here? Thanks again for being awesome!
oYlihan: I can rip every location with sh_2-4 level viewer combined with 3dvia. Then I import it back and forth from 3ds max and blender to automatically fix the ripping problems. I use Unity 5 as engine and have a copy of the female animset pro by kubold, which is high quality mocap with a controller. The face, animation was done by hand within an hour because I needed to fix the skinning. Anyway, my desktop pc died as predicted. I still have all files on my external drive so when I buy a new pc I can continue the work as planned.
Anonymous3: Ive tried ripping models from the level viewer all different versions can't seem to get it to work it says error in log files. Just wondering is it supposed to work that way with the dumping models or u ripping the models with a different method? A lot of the model rippers I tried need older Windows OS.

I read it awhile ago I put it as this, if I put the main SH3 folder it just say data not found.
Doesn't seem to work with Silent Hill 2 or 3 don't know why. Thx for the reply tho. I tried for a few hours trouble shooting with compatibility modes and trying different methods doesn't seem to work I can view models but cant extract them even the texture extract the model though doesn't output, strange.
oYlihan: Like I said. Run 3dvia printscreen alongside model viewer and press the capture key you set. It will generate an xml file that contains both texture and model.
The modelviewer itself is only for the sake of being captured by the other software.
Anonymous6: Ah Im out of ideas. I got sh_initial_loader to export .smd files but they are unreadable for some reason by any 3d program. I got the model viewer and level viewer to export .txt files to be converted to a model, they are unreadable by 3d programs as well. Then I try what you say with 3dvia printscreen. It just halts all applications nothing starts all versions of the viewers all browsers everything just hangs when it's running, not sure WTH is going on. Been trouble shooting all different versions for almost a week just wanted models to use in game art, it's all hopeless no info about 3d via troubleshooting this issue. I appreciate the replies tho good luck with your project.
oYlihan: Sorry for late response. My new pc just arrived last week and I haven't took time to go on this.
Not sure what went wrong but you gotta press f10 when sh level viewer and 3dvia printscreen are both running. Depending on your hardware it might or not work. I can help you with assets if you like, I mean, if you list the locations you want I can extract them flawlessly.
borney: Well I talked to creator of the program on yahoo groups and ya he doesn't extract models for 3 only 2 so I established that I guess. I tried 3dvia ya it just hangs does nothing must be videocards or OS. Well I need the business world before changed, When it's all normal basically up to normal store room with the tub where it changes. I have the changed versions of business world by someone on deviant art they do it the same way you extract them. I may use a laptop with Windows 7 and try that way myself. But if u are okay with it ya extracting them would be a big help thx. I wanted to get every single map possible so that's what I was working towards but this would be a leap forwards.
oYlihan: Yeah me too. I actually wanted to stitch the complete sections to be one large map. The mall rooms line up perfectly. But I haven't got enough free time to do it all on my own. Tomorrow I will rip a few for ya. I believe the total number of that section goes up to 26 rooms.
oYlihan: Alright. The store section had 20 rooms. Tedious task for sure. Got them all ready for setting them up. Stuff I need to do is align them to all axis correctly and putting the sh model viewer texture on them instead of xml's. (Transparancy) Then I'll upload them.
borney: Well thx man for your time helping a random person on the net. Nah but all seriousness thanks, was about to give up on this stuff again. Hope it's not too much to ask since it's quite a few parts, I have 3dsmax and Maya so if u didn't want to spend all the time converting them to .obj or whatever it's fine too I can do that stuff. How's the project going were ya on pause due to the rig change?
oYlihan: Yes it has been on hold by that. On side note, I tend to occasionally hop from one project to the other. I don't know if it's a motivational issue or just like any of my other short term obsession thing. xD
borney: Well it's good multitasking I'm too focused on one thing I tend to not finish tho too worried about how it looks then I end up dropping it. Side note as well I was looking through the failed SH HD DVD recently and I thought yay HD textures. I looked at those textures lol they didn't change anything they're all the same resolution! Looks like your project is going to be the most HD for SH3 ha ha.
oYlihan: Sounds familiar. Its that moment that you've become aware of your own 'mistakes'. I mean, it's never really finished. Never perfect. And when you look back on it you only feel obligated to delete it.
Yeah, I guess it's the decade of the fake 'hd remasters'. Textures here are same tho. Only things improved are dynamic shadows, ambient occlusion, sub surface scattering, screen space reflections, tone mapping and hdr bloom. Lol
borney: Oh well good enough probably better than they did and they broke the fog :D
I imported them and flipped a few textures it's great they're all good! Can't thank ya enough man now for me to figure out a way to get them extracted on my own thx for the time ya took.
oYlihan: You wouldn't believe some of the rumours I heard. The 'hd' ports of Silent Hill are terrible. They lost the source of the final build and thought it was a good idea to use an incomplete version of the game instead. It has gotten to the point that pretty much everyone plays the game through pcsx2, including me.
You're welcome. If you need anything else feel free to ask.

SH2-SH3_Viewer_v1.10
Both versions do the same problem.
The modelviewer itself is only for the sake of being captured by the other software.
