It's probably age bias, most people think any movie made before they were born is shit. Maybe you should commission BigBadWolf to rectify the situation. : )

Well, before Pretty Baby's Violet there's Lolita from the Stanley Kubrick adaptation - plus Shirley Temple. I'd consider her the real "original movie loli!" I think she even did a topless hula dance in one movie from the 1930s.
I actually came up with a list of loli characters, broken down between "loli" and "teen" for possible commissions, and believe me, Violet is on the list. :)
