USAgent: @Anonymous: This. While I'm glad a model is being worked on to be ported into SFM it's always a little disheartening to see it as one of the Red Menace exclusives collection. You never know what'll be the model that motivates a person to try out SFM.
HarveyWire2: @USAgent: I automatically lose respect for any content creator that makes their models "exclusive". It creates a literal circle jerk, where only the "elite" members of the community can use them. It makes them come off as the biggest loser neckbeards on the planet. They seriously make an already toxic community even more toxic. This is yet another reason why I admire people like Croix. Top notch models given to the ENTIRE COMMUNITY, and an actually polite and respectable person to boot. I managed to chat with Croix a few times before he vanished, and he was very considerate and friendly. I mostly avoid this community these days due to how demanding and egotistical most everyone is. I won't delude myself into thinking I will ever "quit the internet" again though. This site has the best SFM porn collection ever, and some people still make good stuff.
USAgent: @HarveyWire2: Oh, indeed. Artists like Metssfm, Ganonmaster, LordAardvark and countless others give back and that's a nice, positive thing to do. Ultimately Menace isn't entitled to share content that he and others put man hours in on but you know what I really hate about it? How only a small pool of people have access to these models so the work generated is also low. In most cases at least. I know Ellie in particular remains a constant favorite. But there's other models that'll only see the light of day if an owner feels inclined to use it. Which means great models like Hermione or Bhadra [among others] collect cobwebs and eventually end up a folder somewhere forgotten about until the feeling comes back to use them.
Meanwhile other models get alot more traction out of them because they're publicly available and from a variety of artists that will fulfill specific niches/genres that others can't/won't be it /ss/, shota, loli, futanari, interracial, lesbian, gay, dark/rape, beastiality, bondage and more.
I see it as a struggle of the ego. As an artist you have to hit invisible and precise metrics in order to satisfy the whimsy of another person so that you can arrange pixels to do the nasty in an engine that wasn't built to do that. It may sound like I'm diminishing his efforts but his perspective is frustrating to comprehend. On his page is a losing battle DigitalEro has been having with him about this very subject. Have a read.
Anonymous3: @USAgent: Apparently redmenace is the only one making a Quiet model at the moment, read from Rasta's tumblr. Which means we'll probably be getting 2 animations (I'm exaggerating) with his "exclusiveness". I really don't want to call him an asshole, but he's an asshole.
I don't get why he lets a small circle of people have them, and the complains that his models aren't being used. I agree that people will inevitably get bored of them, which is why if they were to be released publicly, new artists can come in and make more content.
USAgent: @Anonymous: I literally just saw that post on Rasta's tumblr like five minutes ago.
Fuck, man. I guess that's the tradeoff. I had fears Ciri would be private but she's public. But in return for that Quiet has to be private. Damn. I don't want to call RedMenace an asshole either because he's still providing a service and, perhaps even better, he drops the model off in the hands of the people who are guaranteed [in his mind] to do it justice. FOW, their entire team, pestililenceSFM, m41, hentaiforeva, vsmnd, juliojakers and a small number of others will have their hands on it. The people who generally churn out top tier content. Other good artists from Timpossible to Venomous Sausage to RastafarianSFM to GPOINT and even the fledgling/obscure artists however will be shit out of luck.
We'll be a slave to the whimsy of the artists that have them. Or people will have to shell out money to see the work they want made with the models that aren't readily accessible. Money for porn. In 2015. To access something that isn't otherwise available to the public. Stuff like that allows content creators to hold a monopoly where work can be done with the model but only behind a commission paywall. Otherwise you'd have to just wait or stop caring. Then when content for a model dries up you'd have to weigh your wallet against how badly you'd like to see the model get utilized.
I saw the complaint Red Menace made about how he released a niche model from some obscure title and how he was disappointed it wasn't widely utilized. He says this after a gloating post that obscure models is what "he's all about". Quiet isn't obscure by a damn long shot. Not with Metal Gear being the popular IP that it is. I could maybe reason that the Far Cry 4 cuties are but...damn. Not Quiet. Shit. Welp. I hope someone else is working on porting over Paz.
Anonymous4: @USAgent LordAardvark is actually a giant asshole; he's egotistical about everything, can't take criticism. Mets and Ganon actually hate him because of his behavior and how low quality his work is despite his intake.
