Jackbutt: A Lot: two words. A bunch, a bushel, a ton.... It means "a" group of something. And generally if you are to use the phrase "a lot" you're better off using another word/phrase in place of it. Not only does it make you sound more intelligent in the written and spoken worlds, but you will be better off for it in the long run.
And if you have issues with anal... Well, time to find yourself a cleaner girl.
